Job summary

We are recruiting an experienced Design Systems Application Engineer to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry. NOTE: Must be able to work onsite 100% of the time in Windsor, ON Must be willing and able to travel the United States and Mexico, without restrictions, effective on the start date RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead interface between the Chief Engineering team and the Product Release Center, primarily responsible for managing system interactions and interfaces between components and subsystems of the Driveline System Design Systems / Applications Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer for multiple programs Driveline System hardware system responsible (integration and system balancing of all EDM gearbox components) Interfacing with individual Design Release Engineers and COEs Schedules hardware system design reviews across PRC and reviews DRE design proposals Organize reviews with Virtual Analysis / CAE team and ensures Virtual DVP / Scorecard is completed prior to any prototype hardware orders Manage Driveline System and Interface DFMEA / DRBFM (team) reviews to ensure complete transparency and development of cohesive Design Controls leading to Robust DVP Actions Supports CE & ACE to develop FTE and ER&D/ED&D Cost Roll ups for Minor/MCA/ New Programs Review and approve all change notices ensuring checklists, LL, and E BPs are updated and aligned Leads Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) / Value Optimization (VO) effort and alignment working closely with PRC, DVC and VO teams Reviews driveline system and applicable component “Validation Completion” status with DVC team periodically & provides update to CE Coordinates DRBTR review and keeper of “follow up items” and decision maker on issuing GIMS for buds of problems Manage CQI and GIMS cross functional task force teams working closely with ACE, create priorities, action plans and track progress, align and update initiatives list REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience Min of a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical engineering or Electrical Engineering – Master’s preferred Performance in graduate/undergraduate at 80% GPA Strong communication skills essential – present to leadership and able to communicate with cross functional teams COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $37.00-$41.00/ hour (depending on experience) Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc. Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October) MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
