Job summary
We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry. NOTE: 6-month contract that could be extended but no guarantee Ability to work all three shifts is required, primarily the off shifts (midnights and afternoons) Ability work overtime including weekends and holidays when required RESPONSIBILITIES: Coach team members on Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met by adhering to standardized work Optimize production throughput in alignment with budget and cost objectives Supervise skilled trade activities and assign work as required Provide guidance and support on breakdown activities Create a conducive work environment that enables teams to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks Ensure effective communication and recognition within the team Perform administration of supervisory duties and documentation as it relates to supporting the maintenance activity Monitor and create requisitions for machine parts and related equipment Support the ongoing PM (preventative maintenance) process REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: 4+ years’ experience working with and supervising unionized workforce and understanding of CBA (collective bargaining agreement) Experience in body shop, stamping, paint, subassembly, or machining preferred. Safety and Quality experience preferred Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook) Prior experience managing a unionized workforce Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining experience (specific to Power TakeOff) Adept problem-solving and conflict management skills Effective organizational and administrative capabilities Preference given to previous experience in a trade (industrial) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $35.00 - $40.00 hour (depending on experience) Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc. Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus. Requirements
Requires over 4 years of experience supervising a unionized workforce with a strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements. Preference is given to candidates with industrial trade experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or CNC machining.
