Job summary
We are recruiting an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry. NOTE: 6-month contract that could be extended but no guarantee Ability to work all three shifts is required, primarily the off shifts (midnights and afternoons) Ability work overtime including weekends and holidays when required RESPONSIBILITIES: Coach team members on Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met by adhering to standardized work Optimize production throughput in alignment with budget and cost objectives Monitor ANDON (a system to notify production issues) occurrences and serve as the initial responder for secondary support Verify production line safe and smooth operation, and its output of quality parts, through Process Confirmation Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) initiatives and coach problem resolution at the lowest possible level Meet targets for First Time Through (FTT), inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expenses Build the capability of both Team Leaders and Team Members Create a conducive work environment that enables teams to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks Ensure effective communication and recognition within the team Perform basic administration of supervisory duties and documentation Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: 1+ years’ experience working with and supervising unionized workforce and understanding of CBA (collective bargaining agreement) Experience in body shop, stamping, paint, subassembly, or machining preferred. Safety and Quality experience preferred Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook) Prior experience managing a unionized workforce Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining experience (specific to Power TakeOff) Helium leak stand experience (specific to Power Take-Off) Adept problem-solving and conflict management skills Effective organizational and administrative capabilities COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $35.00 - $40.00 hour (depending on experience) Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc. Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
