Job summary
Merlin Plastics Group is a processor of post-consumer and post-industrial plastic. We are dedicated and committed to providing environmental services for the packaging industry in an economically efficient, environmentally sound, and socially responsible fashion. Merlin Plastic Group is looking for laborer to prepare and sort materials or products for recycling. They will ensure proper placement and sorting of materials on the conveyor line. Duties include but are not limited to sorting, cleaning and sweeping in the production section. Employment type: Full-time/Permanent Location: 351 Gifford St, New Westminster, BC Responsibilities and requirements: * Report to work on time and follow assigned shift schedules. * Follow all SOPs for operating and maintaining equipment. * Inspect incoming materials and sort by type, size, and color. * Remove contamination from the sorting line and pull it offline. * Maintain a sorting speed of approximately 70–80 items per minute. * Identify and remove large or prohibited items (e.g., suitcases, boards, chairs, balls, etc.) and report them to the Lead Hand. * Clean the conveyor and surrounding areas regularly. * Keep the work area clean by sweeping, wiping, and shoveling. * Report any equipment malfunctions or damage immediately. * Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE. * Perform other duties as assigned What we offer: * Full-Time and Long-Term Employment * Group Benefits (such as Dental & Healthcare) and RRSP's after 3 months * Employee personal and professional development * Personalized training * Strong HR support * Free parking space * Dynamic work environment * Diverse culture: opportunity to learn from different backgrounds * The bus stop is 5 minutes away Benefits: * Dental care * Extended health care * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision care Schedule: * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Language: * English (required) Work Location: In person
