The Manager will lead development and execution of analysis, modeling, reporting and insights for the safety, risk, and reliability of our GO Rail, GO Bus and UP Express business, as well as supporting other financial, operational and safety KPI that measure the health of Metrolinx and holding vendor and third party commercially and operationally accountable for performance. This role drives effective measurement and improvement to protect our reputation with customers, the government and future ridership revenue growth. What will I be doing? * Lead analysis, modeling, reporting and insights for the primary source data on the safety, risk, and reliability of our GO Rail, GO Bus and UP Express business. * Provides single source data to senior leaders within the organization that is used in commercial discussions (Ex. liquidated damages, where to focus improvement) with partners * Provides teams such as operational planning, service design, engineering and safety with data analysis inputs into service planning simulation tools to assess the impacts to new/revised train service plans and future state infrastructure requirements. As well as provide MX with monthly and annual forecasting of safety, risk, and reliability performance with an effort to hold operations and asset teams across Metrolinx in CPG, RT and Operations accountable for their performance. * Leads a team of technical senior and junior performance advisors to perform timely deep dive reports for emerging issues or trends for senior executives. This work helps executive understand where issues are, so they can make informed decisions on service reductions, deployment of additional human and financial resources and where transformational change maybe required. * Drives lean adoption through execution of analysis to identify root causes and the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle to improve outcomes, which drives customer satisfaction, revenue and efficiency of operations. * Leads the overall Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) risk and performance regime for Metrolinx in accordance with EN50126 ensuring a successfully integrated RAMS program for all assets and capital works. * Communicates and provides support to both internal and external stakeholders to enhance and achieve organizational goals * Keeps up to date on emerging trends, behaviors and industry best practices by researching, developing, and maintaining awareness of industry best practices * Establishes processes, controls and measures to ensure appropriate expense allocation, cost management, and overall fiscal responsibility * Develop and maintain an environment of positive collaboration through strong working relationships and linkages between business units and departments; and between Metrolinx and others. * Manages and directs staff (e.g. defines roles, responsibilities, and expectations); delivers timely feedback to ensure a cohesive operational unit and the optimum use of team skills; manages staff and monitors work assignments to ensure adherence to timelines; monitors the achievement of performance objectives; develops and implements action plans to address performance gaps What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need? * Completion of a degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent * Demonstrated years of leadership experience * Professional Engineering designation is an asset * Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills to liaise with all levels within the organization; to work effectively with specialists across multiple sectors * Project management skills, including work planning, monitoring and evaluation expertise, to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines * Knowledge of performance analytics to monitor project performance and quality and to collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives * Proven leadership, interpersonal and mentoring skills with the ability to clearly articulate creative ideas and direction to staff * Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills * Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Don’t Meet Every Requirement?
