Description Managerial CFO - Developer - Burlington/Hamilton Position Overview The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership to support the company's continued growth, profitability, and operational excellence. This role will oversee all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, capital planning, and investor relations while building strong financial systems and structures that support a scaling construction development environment. The ideal candidate has deep experience in construction, real estate development, or related project‑based industries, and thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Planning Partner with the CEO and executive team to develop long-term financial strategies that align with organizational goals. Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across all business units. Provide financial insights and recommendations to guide decision-making on land acquisitions, new developments, partnerships, and capital investments. Drive financial modelling for development proformas, project feasibility, and ROI analysis. Financial Operations Management Oversee day-to-day accounting, cash flow management, payroll, and financial reporting. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Build and enhance internal financial controls, policies, and procedures. Implement scalable systems and tools to support company growth. Capital & Funding Management Manage debt financing, banking relationships, and capital structure. Lead fundraising efforts including construction financing, development loans, and equity partnerships. Optimize liquidity and capital allocation across multiple active projects. Risk Management & Compliance Oversee all financial, contractual, and regulatory risk management processes. Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, CRA requirements, and provincial regulations. Develop strategies for cost control, margin improvement, and risk mitigation. Team Leadership Lead and mentor a growing finance and accounting team. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and operations to ensure alignment between financial and project performance. Profile Managerial CFO - Developer - Burlington/Hamilton Qualifications & Requirements CPA designation required (CA, CMA, or CGA). 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years at a senior leadership or executive level. A strategic focus and proven ability to generate and secure investment Experience in construction development, real estate, or project based industries is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of development financing, construction billing cycles, and cost to complete forecasting. Proven track record of building financial systems and teams in a growing company.
