ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and cook balanced lunches for youth. Ensure compliance with Alberta Health Services food safety regulations. Safely operate kitchen equipment and maintain a clean, sanitary workspace. Assist in portioning, packaging, and distributing lunches to youth. Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs. Collaborate with other staff to ensure timely and efficient service. Maintain records related to food preparation, allergies, and dietary restrictions. Uphold confidentiality and professionalism while interacting with students and staff. Additional duties as assigned by the Principal. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Previous cooking or food service experience is an asset. Food Safety Certification, or willingness to obtain prior to start date. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safety protocols. Ability to work under minimal supervision. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Other Requirement Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods. Valid Class five (5) driver’s license is an asset. Clean Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week, for the 2026/27 School Year. Work is primarily performed in a school kitchen and dining environment. Must safely operate kitchen equipment and follow food safety procedures. May be required to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. MCFN Standard Closing Statement In accordance with MCFN hiring practices, this position will be posted internally for a minimum of fourteen (14) days to provide qualified MCFN Members and internal candidates with the opportunity to apply .
