As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Purchasing Specialist to join our team at our Markham Head Office. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for toys, games, collectibles, and specialty merchandise. * Build and nurture strong relationships with vendors, distributors, and manufacturers. * Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize profitability. * Monitor inventory levels and sales trends to effectively plan restocks and new product acquisitions. * Collaborate closely with merchandising and retail teams to ensure the right products reach the right stores at the right time. * Review purchase orders for accuracy and ensure timely processing. * Analyze sales performance and product lifecycle to make informed purchasing decisions. * Track shipments and proactively resolve issues related to delivery or product discrepancies. * Research new trends, products, and suppliers to continuously expand our assortment. * Coordinate with accounting and warehouse teams on invoicing and receiving matters. QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum 5 years of purchasing or buying experience, including at least 3 years of purchasing or buying experience specifically within the toys and games industry. * Hands-on experience with NetSuite is required. * Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems. * Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Passion for games, toys, collectibles, and pop culture is a definite asset.
