Mission Services of London is a non-profit social service agency dedicated to serving residents of London and Middlesex County with compassion and dignity. Mission Services of London’s Mission Store has an opening for a Part-time Van Driver and Warehouse Support at 30 hours per week. This role provides support for daily operations of The Mission Services of London through pickup and delivery of non-food goods amongst all branches, as well as the pickup of donated clothing, household goods, and furniture from donors’ homes and business locations. It will also provide the Warehouse section of the Store with receiving and sorting donations to funnel quality products to the store floor by rough and fine sorting donations (by season, style category), helping unload donations from donor vehicles, organizing, rotating and physically supporting warehouse storage needs and product movement. Duties And Responsibilities Pick up and deliver mail pouches from Head Office to all branches. Pick up clothing donations, deliver and unload at The Mission Store unless otherwise designated. Ensure effective communication between the store staff, driver and donors by: Pick up original copies of day’s pickup notices from schedule board and return them at end of each day. Ensuring available through Store cell phone during working hours Receive and sort products into appropriate areas of the store, following all rough sorting procedures, expectations and recycling processes for unusable donations. Work alongside Store leads, maintenance and housekeeping staff to assist with garbage, recycling and textile donation processes and product movement. Supporting product flow, product movement and physically shifting products for storage or seasonal needs. Open and close the back donation door for receiving efforts in line with the donation schedule advertised, support staff in final closing of the store, ensuring all doors are secured and receiving area is clean and ready for next business day. Ensure the regular cleaning and mechanical maintenance of the van by: Completing daily Driver’s Routine Maintenance Schedule and Log. Clean interior and exterior of van at least once a month or as needed. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicle. Provide relief / backup for other van driver as required. Qualifications High School Diploma. Defensive Driving Course. 1 year experience Public/Customer Service. Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance. Demonstrated organizational skills with strong verbal communication abilities. High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic. Physically fit with ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Position Details Part-time – 30 hours per week.
