The assistant will maintain trust records, manage deadlines, and support the trustee with meeting agendas and correspondence. They will also communicate directly with clients, accountants, banks, and the CRA regarding trust operations.

Job details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual with a desire to develop their skills in trust administration. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience, working directly with the trustee and our legal team to deliver a tailored, high-quality private client service. Responsibilities: * Maintaining diligent physical and digital trust records, including trust accounting records, handling mail * Tracking and managing tasks and deadlines * Supporting the trustee, preparing an agenda for trustee meetings * Handling sensitive information * Preparing simple legal documents and drafting correspondence * Communicating directly with the clients, accountants, banks, the CRA, and other individuals, both via email and phone calls Qualifications: * Strong organizational skills, attention to detail * Ability to prioritize and handle multi-step administrative procedures * Excellent communication skills * At least 1 year of experience working in an office or an administrative role * Legal assistant diploma (or equivalent) or experience working in a law firm or wealth management is preferred * Internationally trained lawyers who intend to start the NCA process are welcome to apply What We Offer: * Flexibility of a part-time schedule - 20 hours a week * Exposure to practical aspects of the daily operations of trusts * Learning opportunity to enhance future roles in legal, financial and administrative sectors * Opportunity to start building a professional network in the wealth management sector

Requirements
