Role Overview This is a full-time on-site role for a Associate or Senior Associate, Mortgage and Commercial Lending role located in Toronto, ON. The qualified candidate will review new loan opportunities, prepare credit presentations, and participate in loan monitoring and administration. Responsibilities: Analyze and underwrite loan opportunities including real estate development and construction mortgage loans and condominium corporation loans. Pre-qualify new loan opportunities to ensure compliance with investment policies. Conduct detailed analysis on qualifying opportunities, prepare credit memos for credit committee presentations, and structure commitment letters to execute on the opportunities. Conduct detailed due diligence on loan opportunities prior to funding. Prepare loan presentation and dataroom for potential investors and lenders. Work closely with management to monitor the loans to ensure that the project is progressing and in compliance with the business plan. Assist originators to manage pipeline in CRM by ensuring all deal status metrics are up to date. Stay up-to-date with the competitive landscape and applicable underwriting guidelines. Participate in business development activities as required. Get licensed as a Mortgage Agent. Qualifications: Post-secondary degree required in business, finance, engineering, or other related fields. At least 2-6 years of experience in lending and/or real estate is preferred. An existing Mortgage Agent License is a plus. Demonstrated experience in conducting research and financial analysis. Superior documentation skills with keen attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent organization and time management skills to manage and meet changing priorities. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and under time pressure. Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit. High proficiency in Excel, Word, other Office products; basic proficiency in CRM systems. Target Compensation: $80,000 to $110,000 base salary plus performance bonus. Compensation will be commensurate to candidate's experience. The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership in their role and grow within the firm.
