Morskate Manufacturing is actively recruiting a motivated Structural Steel Painter to join our dynamic team of professionals. Reporting to the shop supervisor, you will be responsible for preparing, priming, and coating fabricated steel products using dip and spray methods. The role includes maintaining equipment, ensuring proper product labeling, and upholding our quality and safety standards at all times. Responsibilities Calculate and maintain levels of paint supply and related consumables Operate and maintain paint related equipment and tools effectively i.e. sprayers, nozzles, paint booth, etc. Storage and preparation of paint products Order paint & relevant stock material (Ensure proper paint codes are being used) Receive and follow work instructions and material priority status Interpret drawings and sketches to determine and verify product finish Application of primer to finished steel product using dip and spray methods as required Apply proper labelling of dipped and sprayed material for label transfer once dry in preparation for shipping Ensure quality of finish on primed material to meet customer requirements Safe operation of overhead crane for material movement Requirements/Qualifications 2+ years of experience in industrial or structural steel painting Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy production shop. Must be familiar with outdoor steel coatings and their applications (Epoxy, Acrylic & Polyurethane). Maintain dip tank levels and pit levels within tank. Take and record paint coating thickness readings. Ability to apply primer and finish coatings using spray equipment according to job specifications. Ensure high-quality finish work with smooth, even coverage and attention to detail — capable of producing coatings that meet both visual and durability standards. Must have good time management skills Knowledge of materials and basic understanding of metals.
