Job summary

Locations: Pickering or Mississauga Vacancies: 1 position Work Arrangement: On-site, five days per week Duration: 1 year (extended annually) Hourly Rate: $100 - $130/hour Summary Provides daily front-line supervision and technical support for a team of engineers and support staff in a specific engineering specialty or function. Scope of work typically includes planning and scheduling work, supervising workflow, and adherence to budget. Supervises the execution of engineering processes, reviews progress and updates management, as needed. Provides input to, or conducts, staff appraisals. Major Duties Ensures effective performance of engineering assignments. Plans and directs the timely execution of engineering activities, as assigned. Ensures projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies, objectives and customer standards. Ensures adherence to government, organization and customer engineering standards and procedures. Monitors goals, objectives and standards of performance for assigned team members. Works interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships. Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements. Works on special projects, as directed. Performs other related duties and tasks, as required. Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies. Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd. Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) in Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of related experience required. Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) is required. Skills & Knowledge Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria. Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, management and customers as required. Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment. Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills. Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple tasks and projects through subordinates. Good analytical ability and problem identification/problem resolution skills. Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills.
