The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction, environmental services, and transportation and courier services within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking an Instructional Designer contractor to join our training department. This will be a remote position. Job Summary Reporting to the Manager of Program Development and Delivery, the Instructional Designer will work with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and members of the training team to assess needs and develop practical, effective learning solutions. The successful candidate will primarily create learning content while also helping determine the most appropriate solution based on business and learner needs. What You’ll Do Participate in needs assessments with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business needs, performance gaps, learner requirements, and project objectives Design and develop engaging online, instructor-led, blended learning materials, and other learning resources using adult learning principles and established development standards Lead and facilitate project meetings, content discussions, and review sessions with stakeholders and subject matter experts Manage assigned projects from initial assessment through development and implementation, including timelines, stakeholder/SME coordination, reviews, approvals, and status updates Test learning materials across applicable platforms and devices, document required changes, and incorporate feedback What You’ll Bring Experience using Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word to develop professional learning materials Experience with other graphic design, video, audio, or content-editing platforms is considered an asset Project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Flexibility, professionalism, and openness to feedback in a collaborative and changing work environment Ability to work as part of a team, both in-person (if location allows) and remotely Application Process When you submit your application, please add your portfolio or sample work Completed Applications Should Be Submitted To Human Resources Attn: Emily Siepierski Via Email: esiepierski@municipalgroup.ca Please reference “Instructional Designer – Contractor” in the subject line.
