Job summary

Position Overview and Requirements Under the direction of the Chief Building Official, the candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for clients seeking information related to building permits. The incumbent will provide administrative support to Building Officials by processing building permit applications, maintaining building permits files, coordinating inspection requests and schedules, and ensuring the accurate closure of building permits in accordance with established procedures and legislative. Skills, Competencies and Knowledge: * Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Office Administration, Building Sciences or related field. * Minimum of two (2) years’ municipal, administrative, construction or similar experience is considered an asset. * Comprehensive on the job training will be provided. * Demonstrated experience in customer service. * Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public while exercising discretion, tact and sound judgement. * Experience working in a construction-related environment is considered an asset. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Adobe applications. * Proven ability to manage multiple projects and completing priorities in a fast-paced environment, work effectively under pressure and meet established deadlines. Language Requirements Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in both French and English. Compensation The salary, based on a 35 hour workweek, is set between $54,680 and $68,167 per year and includes an excellent benefits package, a pension plan, as well as free access to the Sports Dome Training Centre.
