About The Opportunity As the Quality Risk & Safety Manager, reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for: Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of a rigorous Quality and Safety governance framework to improve patient safety and clinical quality. Leading investigations into serious patient safety and clinical incidents, including Root Cause Analysis and clinical incident reviews, and driving strategies for prevention and improvement. Leading and coordinating Griffith Base Hospital to attain accreditation by consistently meeting the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Providing executive leadership for the hospital's policy and procedure framework, ensuring alignment with legislation and Ministry of Health requirements. Implementing and monitoring risk assessment and management practices in accordance with the Ministry of Health Risk Management Enterprise-Wide Policy and Framework. Providing senior leadership in the management of medico-legal issues, including litigation, legislation requirements and compliance. Providing timely and accurate advice to the General Manager and Executive team on matters relating to patient safety, consumer feedback, complaints and clinical quality. About You Our ideal candidate will demonstrate: Successful experience in, and understanding of, clinical governance, including the management of patient safety and clinical quality, and NSW Health policies on Risk, Quality and Complaints Management and ACHS Accreditation. High level analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage large volumes of information and lead organisational change and improvement strategies. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including high level consultation and negotiation skills, and the ability to build relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders. The ability to act as an advisor to senior executive, managers and clinicians, analysing and responding to issues with flexibility and expertise. Skills in training and mentoring staff and providing leadership for quality improvement and major change and reform projects. The ability to produce comprehensive reports and deliver performance outcomes, including strong time management, resource management and conflicting priority management. Requirements
Requires extensive experience in clinical governance, NSW Health policies, and ACHS accreditation. Must possess a current Class C driver's licence, National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and meet OASV vaccination requirements.
