Summary The NHL Social Media team is seeking a resourceful individual to facilitate all aspects of production. The Production Assistant will work closely with the NHL Social content team on projects for publication on the NHL’s social platforms by sourcing footage, setting up projects, and reformatting edits to social friendly vertical video. The Production Assistant must be meticulously organized with excellent attention to detail. The right candidate will be an internet sleuth with a penchant for tracking down clips and sound bites quickly & efficiently. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and task-oriented individual, eager to build their skill set in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Source footage, photos & other assets for use in various projects Research statistics & miscellaneous information for use in differing storytelling formats Clip selects & assemble string outs for projects to hand-off to editors Fact-check edits for accuracy, grammar & spell check quality control Captioning of dialogue heavy videos for sound-off viewing Versioning of final edits in various specs & formats for distribution endpoints across digital and broadcast media File management and project archiving Manage & prioritize multiple projects at a given time in a fast-paced environment Work closely with supervisor and greater social media team in the planning and development of social content Qualifications Successful completion of post-secondary education Exceptional communication skills and command of the English language (written and verbal), additional proficiency in French (written and verbal) is an asset 1-3 years’ demonstrable professional experience with social and/or digital media Experienced with Adobe Premier Pro High level of interest / familiarity in emerging media trends & social media platforms Deep understanding of the NHL, its teams, players, history, rules, and the game of hockey Organized with the ability to constantly prioritize tasks Applies an entrepreneurial approach to their work Task-oriented and resourceful Excellent attention to detail Ability to work nights / weekends / holidays as required COMPENSATION: $35 per hour, CAD This position is for a current vacancy. Requirements
Candidates must have completed post-secondary education, 1–3 years of professional experience in social and/or digital media, and experience with Adobe Premiere Pro. Strong English communication, organization, resourcefulness, attention to detail, familiarity with social media trends, and deep knowledge of the NHL and hockey are required; French proficiency is an asset, and availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is expected as needed.
