Our new Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, located just outside Caledon Village, north of Toronto, officially opened May 2025. As a veterinary-accredited facility, we are committed to becoming a leader in wildlife conservation, clinical research, medicine, training, and education. Our mission is to serve as a hub for discovering and sharing new knowledge, while training the next generation of wildlife custodians, responders, conservationists, veterinarians, and biologists. At our centre, we are passionate about wildlife emergency preparedness, response planning, and conservation. Who We’re Looking For: We're seeking individuals who are eager to contribute, learn, and grow in a physically demanding but rewarding environment. This internship requires a strong work ethic, resilience, and a commitment to teamwork, as well as a passion for wildlife conservation. We welcome applications from international students. Position Details: Location: Caledon Village, Ontario Accommodation: Furnished rooms are available for $1000 CA per month with 1/6 of the utilities. Commitment: Duration: Fall (September 1, 2026 - January 4, 2027 ) and Winter (January 5 - May 3, 2027) Hours: 40 hours per week (subject to change based on workload). A schedule will be provided at the start of the internship. Shift Work Qualifications: Minimum age of 18 Valid driver’s license Willing to get Rabies vaccination (proof of titre level required) Tetanus vaccination (within the past 10 years) Physically fit Ability to follow NWC protocols and health & safety guidelines Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and feed diets for both adult and infant animals Assist with animal capture and restraint Assist with giving animals medication Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor enclosures Provide and collect natural environmental enrichment (e.g., foraging for dandelions, duckweed, acorns) Document and observe animal health and behaviour Wash, dry, and fold laundry, as well as clean dishes Sweep, mop, and disinfect the facility Engage positively with the public and assist with phone inquiries Support the Wildlife Rehabilitation Manager and Veterinarians as needed Contribute to special projects as assigned We look forward to welcoming passionate, dedicated individuals to our team as we work together to advance wildlife rehabilitation and conservation efforts. Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and be physically fit for demanding work. Required vaccinations include Rabies (with titre proof) and Tetanus within the last 10 years.
