Job summary

The Lab Technician provides robust testing using titration, wet chemistry, and physical analysis techniques while improving area logistics and efficiency. Permanent Full-Time (40 hours) Sunday to Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm $50,000 – $62,000 In this role, you will: Perform QC testing and assess data against pre-determined specifications on raw materials, in-process samples, and final products utilizing ICP, HPLC, or ELISA instruments in addition to basic lab testing (i.e.: weights, UV-Vis, FTIR, etc.) as per pharmacopeial or in-house methods Follow safe work and lab practices for cleaning lab glassware, equipment uses and preventative maintenance, sample handling and archiving, chemical and waste handling, gas cylinder movement, and lifting items up to 15kg Report and participate in lab and product excursion investigations such as alert, action, out-of-specification (OOS), out-of-trend (OOT) and non-conformance investigations (NCI) Write and revise quality control methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work procedures (WPs), help maintain reference standards and their records, participate in product specification revisions, and perform QC peer review Learn and apply understanding of STARLIMS lab information management software, from sample login to run completion Learn and perform preventative maintenance and calibration activities for lab and production equipment Participate in validation or technical document activities You have: Completion of a diploma in a science discipline (i.e.: Chemistry) Experience operating and maintaining lab equipment and instrumentation (2+ years) Experience in an analytical lab setting (an asset) Proficiency with computer software (including MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook) Must be able to lift and move items up to 15kg Familiarity with laboratory information management system (LIMS) (an asset) Lean Six Sigma training or equivalent (an asset) You get: Great benefits (healthcare, health & personal spending accounts, wellness days, Employee & Family Assistance Program) Company provided RRSP Loyalty share program (based on service length) $300.00 per year to spend on company products Employee discount pricing Employee appreciation events & rewards Free onsite parking Bus pass reimbursement Exclusive discounts with various vendors Employee wellness sessions Why us?
