Position Title: Accountant Compensation: The starting base salary range for candidates without a CPA designation is $58,000–$65,000 per year. Candidates with experience beyond the minimum requirement can expect a starting base salary toward the higher end of the range. Candidates with a CPA designation can expect a higher starting base salary. A comprehensive benefits package, including a group RRSP program, is available to all employees, after a three-month waiting period. Employment Type: Full Time; Monday to Friday Location: Downtown, Vancouver, BC RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for: Preparation of journal entries, accruals and month-end close procedures for multiple entities Preparation of bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records Preparation of financial and operational reporting to stakeholders Working with the originations and serving teams to monitor cash availability and requirements Assisting with investor-related processes and back office tasks Assisting with internal and external audits Preparation of statutory compliance and reporting Collaborating with the team to improve processes and controls Neighbourhood values candidates with a natural curiosity and passion for problem solving. WHAT YOU WILL BRING College or university degree or related certificate/diploma in accounting, finance, or business administration 1-2 year(s) of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience Currently enrolled or interested in pursuing the CPA designation is preferred Strong interpersonal skills Clear written and verbal communication Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Sage Intacct and/or The Mortgage Office is an asset Self-starter; able to independently carry out tasks from idea generation to execution Demonstrated curiosity and affinity for problem solving Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to change Honesty and integrity WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU The successful candidate will join our finance team.
