POSITION SUMMARY: The Supplier Excellence & Readiness Assessment Specialist, Quality Systems is responsible for evaluating supplier quality management systems and operational quality controls to determine whether they are effective, sustainable, and capable of supporting long-term delivery and product quality requirements. This is a unique opportunity to help establish and shape NFI's Supplier Excellence & Readiness Assessment program through the evaluation of supplier quality systems, process controls, and operational readiness across NFI's global supply base. This role focuses on identifying systemic quality risks, assessing the effectiveness of quality systems in practice, and ensuring suppliers possess the controls necessary to prevent recurring failures, maintain supply continuity, and support future growth. You will play a key role in helping suppliers strengthen quality performance and reduce risk across the supply chain. WHY JOIN US: Be part of a team leading the world's electrification of mass mobility Competitive Wages and comprehensive benefit package with Immediate benefit eligibility Paid holidays and vacation Registered pension plan with generous company match Passionate about creatinga better product, a better workplace, and a better world Inclusive workplace culture that values and empowers team members On-the-job training in a continuous learning environment (we invested $15.9 million in 2024) Advancement opportunities within our family of companies We are proudly named one of Manitoba's Top 25 employers WHAT YOU WILL DO: Conduct on-site supplier assessments of quality management systems and process controls Evaluate quality systems, procedures, controls, performance metrics, and record management practices Assess Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) processes, root cause investigation methodologies, and corrective action effectiveness Review traceability systems, inspection methods, testing programs, calibration systems, and nonconforming material controls Evaluate Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) processes, control plans, process flows, standard work instructions, and change management practices Validate alignment between documented quality systems and actual shop-floor execution Identify recurring defects, systemic quality risks, and control weaknesses Assess audit programs, management review processes, and quality objective deployment Support supplier development initiatives and corrective action follow-up Provide evidence-based recommendations for quality system improvements Contribute quality findings to overall supplier readiness evaluations and risk assessments Communicate assessment findings clearly to both suppliers and internal stakeholders Requirements WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 7+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Quality Systems, or Operational Excellence; 10+ years preferred Deep understanding of Quality Management Systems, CAPA, root cause analysis, containment, and traceability processes Experience evaluating supplier quality systems and conducting supplier assessments or audits Strong knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, process controls, and preventive quality practices Ability to distinguish documented quality systems from actual operational performance Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or comparable quality standards Experience within complex manufacturing environments Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to travel up to 50% Benefits Salary Range: $140,000-$170,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications Standard Hours: 5 Days, 8 hours, Mon-Fri, 7:30 AM- 4:00PM OUR WHY: We exist to move people.
