Our Vaughan mills client is need of an Intermediate Accountant for a permanent role. About the Role As part of the Global Shared Services team, the Intermediate Accountant will support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial activities across multiple business units globally. This role is responsible for a range of accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and process improvements. This is an intermediate-level role suited for professionals with solid full-cycle accounting experience who are looking to expand their exposure in a global, multi-entity environment. Responsibilities Perform full-cycle accounting ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance Support and execute period-end closing activities (monthly, quarterly, annually) Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and allocations Complete balance sheet and bank reconciliations Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies Process intercompany transactions and ensure proper reconciliation Support audits (internal and external) and regulatory reporting requirements Manage banking transactions and assist with cash flow reporting Prepare and support tax filings (e.g., sales tax, corporate tax support) Maintain process documentation, SOPs, and workflow diagrams Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units to ensure data accuracy Contribute to process improvement initiatives and system enhancements Provide backup support within the Shared Services team as needed Handle ad hoc accounting and reporting requests Qualifications Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field Progress toward a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) is preferred Required Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with the ability to understand the broader financial picture Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint; Visio is an asset) Experience with process documentation and workflow mapping Adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to learn Preferred Skills 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience Experience working in a shared services or multi-entity environment preferred Exposure to organizations undergoing growth, transformation, or system changes is an asset Experience participating in process improvement or ERP implementation projects Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred) Spanish and asset Pay range and compensation package Onsite work (5 days).
