Job summary
Purpose Manage the Fergus Maintenance Department to ensure machinery and the facility is in good working order to achieve production requirements. Continuously improve Maintenance performance in support of production, safety and productivity goals. Manage costs to stay within budget. Areas of Responsiblity Ensure that all Health and Safety as well as Environmental regulations are complied with. Part of Fergus Management Team Manage daily breakdowns quickly and effectively Keep abreast of developments related to maintenance systems to ensure the Company is operating in the most efficient and cost effective manner and that objectives for continuous improvement are achieved. Understand and implement Nexans Excellence Way in Maintenance program Create roadmap for Maintenance improvement Work with other functions of the Plant to be aware of activities and recognize key problems areas and define objectives to improve. Support as needed. Support/manage hiring, discipline, terminate as required Identify training needs for the Maintenance staff to ensure a high level of workmanship Review salary employee’s performance and career plans accordingly Maintain employee morale and encourage a team environment in order to ensure a positive and productive work force Control expenses to ensure that the budget is maintained and implement any expense reduction measures Maintain equipment calibrations Monthly reporting of Maintenance KPIs Expected Results Measurement in place and improving trend in A Machine availability Control costs within budget Spare parts are controlled using SAP Support capital and improvement projects Required Skills And Qualifications University degree in Engineering or equivalent along with 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills are a must Excellent verbal and written communication skills Process thinking and problem solving skills Impact driven, willingness to make things happen Excellent organizational skills Excellent mechanical and electrical trouble shooting skills Understanding of wire and cable products and processes is an asset Ability to prioritize and effectively handle several projects simultaneously Occasional after hours work and calls Software: SAP, Excel, CAD Strong safety record Type of Position: Existing Use of AI: AI may be used to screen and assess applications, but not for selection purposes Salary: $114,000 per annum to $128,000 per annum
