As a Plant Accountant, you will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager. GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION One of the strategic orientations that Nexans pursues consists in capturing growth and differentiating its offer by escalading the value chain from the production of cables towards the provision of innovative cable systems and services and solutions to better address the current and future needs of our partners and customers. The position will support the plants in providing accurate and timely reporting on results and KPIs for the Fergus, Weyburn and Trenton plant. It will ensure that costing, inventory valuation and control of flows are accurate. How You Make An Impact Manage, monitor and analyse details in all industrial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as manufacturing variances and scrap Assist with month-end close activities as it relates to reconciliations and journal entries Maintains supporting documentation of accounting transactions, ensures its completeness, accuracy and compliance with legal and tax rules Assist with inventory counts Perform monthly scrap analysis and reconciliations Monthly KPI industrial dashboard for Fergus, Weyburn and Trenton Assisting with audit or tax requests Weekly and Bi-Weekly payroll journal entries for Fergus and Weyburn Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Union remittance for Weyburn Monthly Bank Reconciliations Responsible for capital expenditure process for Grid & Connect Creating and closing internal orders in SAP Creating assets in SAP for capital expenditures Running Monthly depreciation Monthly Reconciliation of EzCapex to HFM Monthly survey of Manufacturing for G&C for Statistics Canada Run and Monitor the Monthly CO Close Cockpit process Product Costing Manual adjustments in the Material Ledger Responsible for the preparation of recurring or specific “on-demand” reports to support financial and operational performance analysis Improve financial reporting, month end reporting, production reporting, standard costing, and inventory control. Track and report factory (IPC) and warehouse spending (IME) WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE ? University or College degree in Business, finance/accounting Professional designation (CMA highly preferred) A minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment) Accounts payable experience is an asset Very good understanding of controlling and accounting principles Ability to learn process and systems improvements Independent, organized and problem-solving mindset Proactive, eager to learn and adaptable to change Good communication and facilitation skills Excellent knowledge of Excel (i.e. VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables) Type of Position: New position Use of AI: None Salary: [$80,000.00 per annum to $85,000.00 per annum] Requests for accommodation due to a disability (which may be visible or invisible, temporary or permanent) can be made at any stage of application and employment.
