Position Summary Under the direction of the Civil Superintendent, the Civil Foreperson is responsible to lead crews in the daily organization and control of labour, equipment and materials to ensure the delivery of a high standard of HSE, quality and productivity are maintained by the crews. NAC is currently seeking a full-time Carpenter Journeyperson Lead Hand or Foreperson, initially based at our Dalewood Water Reclamation Facility project in St. Thomas, ON. \n Job Description * Lead Formwork crew of 10 people * Perform hands-on work duties as they relate to the Foreperson’s specific assigned classification * Show up for work every day; ready to work with a positive attitude * Plan, monitor, and maintain proper use of hand tools. * Responsible for the organization & cleanliness of work areas. * Properly plan and monitor material and equipment deliveries so not to impede the progress of the work; complete material/product requisitions for buying purposes * Proper material storage and protection to ensure delivered product is not lost or damaged right up to the point of commissioning and turn-over * Complete regular timesheets for workforce including proper cost coding * Layout formwork * Reinforce inspections * Concrete pours (5 meter height walls) * Knowledgeable and aware of the required quality of installations; direct and monitor quality; report on issues * Identify quality, quantity and scope changes to the Contract and communicate to supervisor * Assist in preparing, monitoring and updating schedules (both CPM and Planning Aids) to ensure dates are met and improved upon. Understand the scope of your work and communicate constructability issues * Lead and give direction for the daily activities of construction employees * Provide coaching and training as required; encourage positive moral * Encourage and promote open communication and trust with the workforce; lead by example in the assigned work. Provide regular direction to your crew * Actively support NAC'S Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures as per the roles and responsibilities within the HSE Manual Requirements * Trade Certification or equivalent experience, skills. and knowledge * 3 years of experience in similar construction, including experience as a lead hand or foreperson. * Experience with Doka shoring and wall panels. * Experience operating Telehandlers & Skidsteers * Ability to read and interpret instructions, drawings, sketches and specifications to determine work activities * Possess concrete and shoring & forming experience * Knowledge of the general site specific occupational health and safety * Strong time management and attention to detail * Strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills * Motivated Self-Starter * Valid First Aid, WHMIS, Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers and Working at Heights certificates are required \n $48.51 - $53.36 an hour \n NAC Offers: - Competitive compensation - Opportunities for career growth, development and advancement, including financial assistance - Comprehensive benefit plan (dental, vision, health, etc.) - Employee & Family Assistance Program - Excellent company matched pension plan - Registered Retirement Savings Plans - Additional time off between Christmas and New Year’s Day - Community involvement opportunities - Friendly working environment - Numerous team activities and various company events NAC is committed to providing equal opportunities for all individuals to achieve their goals. Requirements
