POWER ENGINEER 4th CLASS/ZAMBONI DRIVER (POSTING) Status: Full Time Department: Facility Operations Supervisor: Director, Facility Operations; Assistant Chief Engineer Pay: $28.50 - $30.00/hr. Schedule: Flexible hours of work include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays _____________________________________________________________________________________ POSITION SUMMARY: Support our Facilities Team with keeping our Club running smoothly and looking its best. The Power Engineer 4th Class position will be responsible for the day-to-day building operations around the facility and its equipment, ensuring smooth functioning. You will conduct the general maintenance and repairs on equipment as required and offer cooperative support to all departments across the Club, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in achieving collective goals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Safe and experienced operation of zamboni ice making equipment. · Safe and efficient operation of all building equipment including ammonia plant, HVAC, lighting, carpentry, plumbing, grounds maintenance, etc. · Safe maintenance and operation of pools and related equipment. · Upkeep and safe operation of an ammonia ice plant and related ice surfaces (pending required certification). · Repair and maintenance all operations equipment such as Zamboni, mowers, fans, pumps, valves, motors, plumbing, heating, etc. · Day to day preventative and regular equipment maintenance. · Assists Housekeeping and member services departments in event set up and teardown, as required. · Notify Director, Facilities of any facility damage, deficits or concerns. · Undertake related duties as assigned supporting building operations as needed. REQUIREMENTS: · Power Engineer 4th Class designation required. · 2 years’ experience in facility operations preferred but will train suitable candidate. · Ice making certificate an asset. · Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Office suite and computer use. · Pool Operations experience and certificate preferred; required to complete within first year of employment. · Semi-skilled repair experience including, but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, etc. · Strong general mechanical aptitude. · Valid Driver’s license. · Demonstrated ability to safely lift 50 pounds. · Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance. · Customer-oriented and friendly; comfortable working in a public setting. · Good communication skills; fluent in both spoken and written English. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and employees; able to resolve complaints quickly and efficiently.
