Position Summary Transporter, Linen, Support Services Your goal in this position is to transport linen and carts to and from the various wards. You’re able to work independently and as a team, you communicate effectively with colleagues, staff and residents, and provide excellent customer service. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families. On a practical level, you will Delivers clean linen to nursing units, OR, CSS, Clinics, etc., and picks up soiled linen. Receives, stores, and distributes linen and uniforms from the Linen Room using the monitoring system. Picks up soiled linen bags with empty carts from units/departments and stores in the loading truck. Maintains a clean and safe working environment. Labels clothing using labelling machine. Alterations on staff uniforms. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Grade 12th or equivalent. Read, write and speak English. Demonstrate interpersonal, organization and communication skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and to prioritize. Sewing experience necessary. Works safely in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
