Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position: S2627-39 Educational Assistant - North Star Elementary School We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE)Temporary Educational Assistant to commence with the start of the 2026-2027 school. The assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behavior skills, self-help. Training in speech, language and numeracy strategies will be a definite asset. North Star Elementary School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 430 students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. Preference Will Be Give To Who Have Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies Experience working one-on-one and/or in a classroom setting Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies Training And Skills That Would Be An Asset Include Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training How To Apply Interested applicants are required to create and complete all sections of their portfolio through the 'Apply On-Line' link on our website, in the employment section.
