Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position: S2627-48 Educational Assistant - Cold Lake Elementary School We are seeking a part-time (0.50 FTE) Educational Assistant to commence as soon as possible. The assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs in PreK classroom, including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. This position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment. Cold Lake Elementary School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 350 students in grades PreK to 3. Throughout the school year, continued involvement and support from parents, teachers and all staff support the school's mission: "At Cold Lake Elementary, we cherish and nurture the whole child through education with a heart". Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Who Have Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans Training And Skills That Would Be An Asset Include Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training How To Apply Interested applicants are required to create and complete all sections of their portfolio through the 'Apply On-Line' link on our website, in the employment section.
