Role Description The Automotive Dealership Financial Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Niagara Falls, ON. This role oversees the financial operations of multiple dealerships, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing general ledger integrity, and ensuring accurate recording of all transactions. The Financial Controller will lead budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor cash flow, and support dealership leadership with timely financial reporting and performance insights. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting; coordinating audits; and ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and OEM reporting requirements. The role collaborates closely with department managers to optimize profitability, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic growth initiatives within a fast-evolving, EV-focused automotive environment. Qualifications Strong financial management and accounting skills, including experience with general ledger, financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting. Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS), ERP or accounting software, and advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting. Knowledge of automotive dealership operations, including inventory accounting, OEM financial reporting, and F&I/parts/service departmental financial structures. Experience implementing and maintaining internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with Canadian GAAP, tax regulations, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to guide and mentor accounting staff. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to present financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships in a family-oriented, customer-focused culture. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CPA designation (or progress toward CPA) is highly beneficial. Prior experience as a Financial Controller or senior accounting leader in an automotive dealership or multi-rooftop environment is an asset
