Role Description The Independent Travel Advisor role is a remote, independent contractor position focused on helping clients plan and book personalized travel experiences. Day-to-day responsibilities include consulting with clients to understand their travel preferences and budgets, researching destinations and travel options, and arranging transportation, accommodations, tours, and other services. The advisor will provide detailed itineraries, offer expert guidance on travel requirements and insurance, and respond promptly to questions and changes before and during travel. The role involves maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, and using booking tools and agency systems to manage reservations and payments. Advisors are expected to actively grow their client base, stay informed about industry trends and supplier promotions, and uphold NorthStar Travel & Associates’ standards of service. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to deliver responsive, client-focused support throughout the travel planning process. Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to explain options clearly, handle inquiries, and build lasting client relationships in a remote environment. Candidates should possess Travel Arrangements skills, including researching and booking flights, accommodations, transportation, and activities tailored to client needs. Candidates should possess knowledge of Travel Agency operations, such as using booking systems, managing reservations, and working with travel suppliers. Candidates should have strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple itineraries and deadlines efficiently. Candidates should be comfortable working independently as an advisor, with the discipline to manage their own schedule and client portfolio. Previous experience in travel advising, hospitality, or a related customer-facing role is highly beneficial. Familiarity with global destinations, travel regulations, and insurance options, along with basic proficiency in common office and communication software, is preferred.
