Req ID: 213404Location: Eastern Zone, Cape Breton Regional Hospital Department: OPEZ DI Screening Mammography CBRType of Employment: Permanent Hourly FT (100%) x 1 Union: UNIFOR Healthcare PositionPosting Closing Date: 13-Oct-26About the Opportunity Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, The Mammography Technologist is responsible for the delivery of patient centered care while operating mammographic and/or sonographic equipment and techniques with minimal supervision while exercising independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The Mammography Technologist is responsible for operating a mammography and/or ultrasound unit to produce high quality images of the breasts for screening and diagnostic purposes, while continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care. The Mammography Technologist is responsible for effective communication in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment while fostering a culture of safety in the workplace. This position involves travel on the Nova Scotia Breast Screening Mobile Unit and in the Mammography Department at Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Travel to other sites may be required.About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure Must be willing to obtain continuing education as part of the CAR Mammography Accreditation Program (CAR-MAP), which includes annual maintenance of continuing education course (15 hours CME credits every 3 years) Must be willing to obtain Breast Imaging I and Breast Imaging II courses (25 continuing education hours per course), and Bring your Position Upfront: Breast Position Virtual Session (1 hour session) Previous experience is an asset Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset Basic Life Support Certification Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position Demonstrates initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams Comprehension of the technical language to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.Hours Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly Compensation and Benefits $36.87 - $45.21 hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.What You'll Love About Nova Scotia Health Nova Scotia Health is more than the province's largest provider of health services; we're a team driven by excellence in health, healing and learning.
