Job Description Join an established collaborative family practice in Yarmouth, working alongside 5 physicians, 2 NPs, 2 nurses, social worker, dietician, pharmacist and a practice facilitator to provide primary care to the community. Harbour South Medical Clinic offers a procedure room, with opportunities for hospital work, ED, teaching, procedures at the nearby Yarmouth Regional Hospital. This clinic is located in the downtown core and has a full life span patient population. Patients may be from an existing panel and the Need a Family Practice Registry. Responsibilities provide comprehensive, full-scope primary health care to practice patients of all ages and stages of health and illness maintain timely and accurate patient records using a provincially approved electronic medical record (EMR) participate in quality improvement, practice evaluation, and other activities that support the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care attend regular physician and team meetings comply with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies, and professional standards of Nova Scotia Health partake in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development opportunities participate in teaching of medical learners Expected Hours Full-time Equivalency: 1.0 FTE weekly hours: 40 hours per week call schedule: not applicable 46/52 weeks per year Remuneration Longitudinal Family Medicine (LFM) contract approximately $375,000 - $400,000 CAD family physicians in Nova Scotia are compensated based on the LFM payment model or Fee for Service (FFS) Incentives Eligible physicians may qualify for recruitment incentives, relocation support and site visit reimbursement through Nova Scotia Health and the Province of Nova Scotia. Requirements
Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is also required.
