Job Description The Port Hawkesbury Health Centre is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage September 21st, 2026 to October 16th, 2026 Responsibilities delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members Remuneration guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day) additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded. accommodations up to $300 per night travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500) travel time up to 10 hours per week licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS) Qualifications all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) all family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Additional Information Clinic Details Port Hawkesbury Health Centre is a collaborative, patient-centered practice and a strong example of a Health Home model of care. The interdisciplinary team includes four physicians, a nurse practitioner, family practice nurse, dietitian, social worker, licensed practical nurse, continuing care coordinator, and five dedicated administrative staff who work together to provide comprehensive, coordinated care. The clinic has recently expanded to include additional exam rooms, along with an enhanced phone and patient appointment reminder system that supports efficient workflows and improved access for patients. This team-based environment allows providers to focus on high-quality, holistic care while being well supported in their day-to-day practice. Community Details Port Hawkesbury is on the Southwestern end of Cape Breton Island, on the north shore of the Strait of Canso. Requirements

Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia. Additionally, they must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada and hold membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
