The Nunatsiavut Government was established in 2005 with the signing of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement. We are the first Inuit region in Canada to achieve self-government, a proud accomplishment for all Labrador Inuit. The Nunatsiavut Government is a fourth, distinct level of government, that is guided by the Labrador Inuit Constitution. The Nunatsiavut Government oversees key areas, including operations and management of programs, services and budgets, business and employment.
