Role Description The Student Co-Op role is a part-time, on-site position located in Winnipeg, MB, supporting residents and care teams in a long-term care environment. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with non-clinical resident activities, helping with recreational programs, engaging residents in social interaction, and supporting staff with basic documentation and administrative tasks under supervision. The role may involve escorting residents to activities within the facility, preparing materials for group programs, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. The Student Co-Op will collaborate with nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and other team members, following established protocols and demonstrating respect, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions. Qualifications Interest in nursing, healthcare, gerontology, social work, or a related field, with current enrollment in a recognized educational program. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, including active listening, respectful resident interaction, and teamwork skills. Demonstrated reliability, time management, and attention to detail in completing assigned tasks and following instructions. Capacity to work in a fast-paced care environment, including appropriate physical stamina for assisting with resident activities. Commitment to maintaining resident privacy, safety, and dignity, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Basic computer literacy for documentation and communication; prior experience in a care setting or volunteering with older adults is an asset.
