Role Description The Veterinary Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC. In this position, the Veterinary Technician supports veterinarians with examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and surgical preparation. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering medications, assisting with anesthetic procedures, collecting samples, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role also involves educating clients on pet care, preventive health, and post-treatment instructions, as well as ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized clinical environment. The Veterinary Technician will collaborate closely with the veterinary team to provide efficient, high-quality care to all patients. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Animal Care and Pet Care skills, including handling, restraint, and monitoring of companion animals. Candidates should possess Veterinary Technology skills, such as performing basic diagnostics, assisting in surgical procedures, and administering medications. Candidates should possess Anesthesiology-related skills, including assisting with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery under veterinary supervision. Candidates should possess Client Education skills, with the ability to clearly explain treatment plans, home care instructions, and preventive health measures. Relevant qualifications include completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technology program, and eligibility for registration or licensing in the province of British Columbia will be considered as an asset. Additional beneficial skills include strong communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and comfort using veterinary practice management software. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or related clinical setting is preferred.
