Position Summary The Event Cook is responsible for the preparation, cooking, finishing, and presentation of hot and cold food for the Premium Club area, Suites, and other event catering areas as required. The Event Cook plays an important role in providing a high-quality guest experience by ensuring that all food is prepared safely, consistently, on time, and according to established standards. This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced event environment, manage multiple priorities, and work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent attendance and reliability are essential. The Event Cook must be available to work scheduled events based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role pays an hourly rate of $18.99 and is tip eligible CAD (per CBA). Benefits As Per The Union Agreement. This position will remain open until December 31, 2026. Responsibilities Prepares, cooks, finishes, and presents hot and cold food for the Premium Club, Suites, buffets, and other event catering areas. Sets up and safely operates kitchen equipment required for food preparation and service. Works effectively across multiple kitchen stations as required. Reviews and follows menus, prep lists, event sheets, and verbal or written instructions regarding food requirements. Ensures all food is prepared and ready according to event timelines and service requirements. Maintains proper portion control, serving temperatures, quality, and presentation of all food products. Operates large-volume cooking equipment, including grills, ovens, deep fryers, and other commercial kitchen equipment. Prepares and packages food that is made to order or held for service while maintaining appropriate food quality and temperature. Ensures food presentation and portion sizes meet established event and Food & Beverage standards. Demonstrates strong knife skills and proficiency in a variety of cooking and food preparation techniques. Maintains a working knowledge of standard menu items, buffet preparation, and event-specific food requirements. Follows all food safety, sanitation, and safe food-handling procedures. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and work area throughout the shift. Cleans kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas as required. Keeps refrigerators, freezers, dry storage, and other food storage areas clean, properly stocked, and organized. Follows established waste-control procedures and accurately records spoilage and waste. Assists with receiving, stocking, and restocking food and supplies. Assists with end-of-event inventory and proper storage of remaining food and supplies. Communicates promptly with the Food & Beverage Manager regarding shortages, equipment issues, food quality concerns, or other operational needs. Works independently when required and takes initiative to identify and resolve issues during preparation and service. Supports fellow cooks and Food & Beverage staff and contributes to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment. Performs other food preparation, kitchen, and event-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, banquet, catering, hotel, arena, or high-volume food service environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques. Good knife skills and ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment. Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety practices. Ability to follow recipes, menus, event sheets, and instructions accurately. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under time constraints. Strong organizational and communication skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced event environment. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other event dates as scheduled. Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, and move food products, supplies, and kitchen equipment as required. Requirements

Candidates must be dependable, able to work efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced team environment, available for scheduled evenings, weekends, and holidays, and able to perform the physical demands of kitchen work.
