Position Summary The Host is responsible for providing a welcoming and efficient experience for customers as they enter the venue. This role involves managing the flow of guests, assisting with seating arrangements, and ensuring the host stand and dining area are organized and ready for service. Must be comfortable working in outdoor conditions. This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00 CAD. Benefits for part-time roles: pension matching. This position will remain open until December 31, 2026. About The Venue Spruce Meadows is South Calgary's leading Sports and Entertainment District, located on the border of Southwest Calgary. Regarded as one of the top show jumping venues on the planet, a stunning 500-acre property also hosts a wide range of events, including tournaments, concerts, festivals, and world-famous markets. Responsibilities Maintaining the host stand area, ensuring organization and cleanliness at all times. Possess a working knowledge of the venue (location, direction, events, policies, etc.). Effectively handle guest flow to maximize seating capacity. Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section. Communicate with Managers and FOH staff during events to maintain proper guest flow throughout the venue. Assist management and FOH staff in all necessary preparations and set up for events. Track the guest waitlist and e scort guests to their table. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience in customer service or restaurant experience. Previous experience in a customer service position. Strong communication skills. High attention to detail. Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment. Organizational skills and ability to multitask. Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum. Must be able to work different shifts, which may include holidays, evenings, and weekends. Strengthened by our Differences.
