Job Description The Key Employee is a key member of the Sub Rosa team, supporting the Management Team with the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This role provides leadership on the floor, supports the guest experience, assists with team training, and helps ensure that opening, closing, and operational standards are consistently maintained. The Key Employee acts as a trusted point of contact during shifts and communicates important information to the Management Team as needed. The day to day: Work on the floor in a leadership capacity, including managing the door, running food, supporting service, and assisting guests and team members. Liaise with guests throughout their experience, ensuring a welcoming and high level of service. Act as a key holder and take responsibility for opening and closing the restaurant as required. Complete all opening and closing checklists accurately and thoroughly. Assist with organizing sections, floor plans, and server assignments to support an efficient service. Support the onboarding, training, and orientation of new employees. Participate in Management Team meetings when required. Review the daily logbook and ensure important information is understood and communicated to the appropriate team members. Learn and follow the restaurant’s daily accounting, cash handling, and cash-out procedures. Communicate any operational, guest, staffing, or service-related concerns to a Manager during the shift. Support the Management Team in maintaining service standards, cleanliness, organization, and overall restaurant operations. Lead by example and contribute to a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management Team. Qualifications Previous supervisory or management experience in a restaurant or similar hospitality environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests, team members, and Management. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to remain organized and focused in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently support and guide a team during service. Ability to manage a large and variable workload while prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely and accurate completion of responsibilities. Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a high-pressure environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence. Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support the Management Team and restaurant operations wherever needed.
