As a Business Development Associate, you’ll have the autonomy to develop your own pipeline while working closely with our internal recruitment and account management teams to deliver the right staffing solutions for clients. Your key responsibilities will include the following: Develop and win new business across temporary, contract, and permanent staffing solutions. Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, cold outreach, referrals, LinkedIn, and market research. Identify, qualify, and convert new sales opportunities using a consultative, value-driven approach. Build trusted relationships with prospective and existing clients and identify opportunities for account growth. Develop and execute sales strategies and plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Lead client meetings, sales presentations, negotiations, and new-account onboarding. Understand client needs and work closely with internal recruitment teams to ensure a smooth transition from business development through to service delivery. Stay informed on industry trends, market activity, and client needs to identify new opportunities and inform your sales strategy. Keep client information, activity, opportunities, and pipeline data accurate and up to date within the CRM/ATS system. Use technology and data effectively to track activity, measure performance, prioritize opportunities, and maintain a disciplined sales process. Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings. What you bring to the job The ideal candidate is confident, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented — but equally important, they are technically sound, highly organized, and comfortable using technology and CRM systems to manage their sales activity, pipeline, and client relationships. You come with: 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or client acquisition, ideally within recruitment, staffing, professional services, or B2B. A proven track record of generating net-new business, from prospecting and lead generation through to negotiation and closing. Strong consultative selling, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Confidence with cold outreach, including phone, email, and LinkedIn prospecting. The ability to build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships. Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how to develop and manage a sales pipeline. Strong technical aptitude and confidence working with CRM/ATS systems, Microsoft Office, and other digital sales tools. A highly organized approach, with the ability to manage multiple prospects, accounts, priorities, and follow-ups without losing momentum. A self-motivated, action-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. An interest in market trends and the ability to research industries, companies, and prospective clients to inform your approach. Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Sales, Communications, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
