The Cloud Engineer is responsible for executing workload migrations, performing source discovery, and validating target environments. They must also monitor migration jobs, troubleshoot failures, and maintain clear documentation for client engagements.

Role: Cloud Migration Engineer Type: Full-Time Permanent · Remote Location: Canada / US (Working EST Time Zone) Responsibilities: Run workload migrations following established runbooks and delivery playbooks. Perform source discovery, prepare target environments, and validate successfully migrated workloads. Monitor active migration jobs, troubleshoot and triage failures, and escalate blockers to your Delivery Lead. Record delivery steps, execution results, and lessons learned for each client engagement. Participate in scheduled cutover events, including after-hours maintenance windows when required. Work closely with Support and the PMO to keep engagements moving smoothly. Must-haves: 6+ years of professional background in IT, systems administration, or cloud infrastructure. Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server administration Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V). Foundational understanding of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Basic familiarity with networking concepts (VPNs, routing, firewalls) and storage. A methodical, detail-oriented approach with strong troubleshooting instincts. Good written communication skills for producing clear delivery documentation. Willingness to work flexible hours around scheduled migration and cutover events. Nice to have: Exposure to cloud migration, backup, or DR (Disaster Recovery) tooling. Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash). Any cloud associate-level certification. Worked in a customer-facing or Managed Service Provider (MSP)
