Job details
PACE CARDIOLOGY · NEWMARKET & BARRIE, ONTARIO · pace-cardiology.com Consultative Cardiology — Earn Beyond U.S. Benchmarks, Without the U.S. Grind One of Canada's largest community cardiology groups, 30–60 minutes north of Toronto, is recruiting U.S. board-certified cardiologists. Here is our model, translated into the terms you already use. The numbers — from actual billing data, not projections Our two most recent full-year, full-time clinic cardiologists averaged: Professional collections (physician revenue) C$1.26 million Overhead - 20%, capped at C$10,000 + HST/month C$135,600 all-in (≈11% effective) Net physician income C$1.13 million (≈US $800,000) Production (CMS wRVU-equivalents, professional work) ≈ 18,000 wRVUs Effective rate per wRVU -- from the first wRVU ≈ C$63, no threshold, no ceiling Income scales with production — and the fixed overhead cap means your rate improves as you grow: Annual wRVUs 10,500 (US median) 15,000 18,000 (our current exchange) Net income (C$) ≈$604,000 ≈$921,000 ≈$1.132,000 Net income (US$) ≈$429,000 ≈$655,000 ≈$805,000 Why the volume is achievable here • The clinic funds the entire diagnostic engine — sonographers, echo/stress labs, extended Holter fleet, scheduling, billing — from its own technical revenue. You see patients and read studies; everything else is handled. • Single payer, 100% collections: no payor mix, no denials, no prior authorizations, no billing overhead beyond the capped fee. • Paid from wRVU #1. No employer threshold, no rate cuts for high producers, no year-end true-up risk. The package • Year-1 income guarantee: C$450,000 · Signing bonus: C$30,000 · Relocation: C$25,000 · CME: C$6,000 + 1 week • Malpractice: CMPA occurrence-style protection at a net ≈ C$2,200/year after the provincial rebate (vs US$30–60k value in the U.S.) — no tail insurance, ever. • Licensure: ABMS board certification qualifies you for full CPSO licensure with no further exams, practising independently from day one. We fund and manage the application. Taxes and cost of living — the part everyone asks about • Practice through your own professional corporation: retained earnings are taxed at ~11–12%, a deferral vehicle with no U.S. employed-physician analogue. For physicians who save, total annual wealth accumulation at our average earnings exceeds a zero-income-tax U.S. state at U.S.-median cardiology pay — detailed 2026 side-by-side (California / average state / Texas–Florida) available on request. • Universal healthcare: no premiums, no deductibles, no US$10,000+/year family health spend. Supplemental drugs/dental coverage ≈ C$4,000/year. • U.S. citizens: cross-border tax structuring matters (CFC/GILTI rules) — we include specialist cross-border advice in the recruitment package. Figures are from actual OHIP payments to two current full-time clinic cardiologists over the most recent full year, at fee levels that have since increased (April 2026 schedule); individual results depend on clinical mix and volume. wRVU-equivalents are computed by mapping each Ontario fee code to the 2025 CMS work-RVU of its closest CPT equivalent; methodology available on request. Compensation is fee-for-service under a physician-services agreement, not employment; package terms are illustrative and finalized individually. This document is informational and is not tax, legal, or immigration advice. Note: Must be US board certified in Cardiology, or hold a Canadian Cardiology license to apply.
