The Bar Manager oversees all aspects involving the serving, ordering and control of alcohol and also uphold high service standards and practice responsible beverage service. About the Dubh Linn Gate: An iconic establishment in Whistler since 1997, the Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub is located in Whistler’s premier hotel property, Pan Pacific Mountainside. We provide the best Irish pub experience outside of Ireland and our team consists of some of the most skilled, friendly & energetic hospitality professionals around. Responsibilities: * Evaluate daily operations, acting as floor manager when needed * Monitor staff performance, ensure that cleanliness and service standards are being maintained * Plan and organize daily operations * Maintains bar cash float. * Set staff work schedules * Supervise staff while maintaining a respectful working environment in which all feel comfortable, safe, motivated and challenged * Train staff to ensure bar is always stocked * Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms * Organize and maintain inventory, call in weekly orders, maintain relationships with all our key suppliers * Ensure health and safety regulations are followed along with promotion of responsible beverage service * Provide customer service modelling professionalism and friendliness * Manage events, this may include developing and marketing new programs * Maintain relationships with all our key suppliers, including beer and wine reps. Qualifications: * Valid ‘Serving It Right’ certification. * Previous supervisory/management experience in a very busy pub or bar environment mandatory. * College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience * Personable, professional, mature individual with high grooming standards and exceptional service standards. * Knowledge of "Squirrel" Point of Sale system an asset. * Fluent in English. * Excellent knowledge of spirits, wine and particularly beers. * Ability to up-sell food and beverages.
