JOB SUMMARY Greystone is an independent senior living home and our meals served are all of regular texture (no puree, scratch cooking, etc.). Cook is responsible for lunch and dinner preparation as well as menu planning and management of the dining room (dinner service). Cook will be a part of a kitchen team, working under the supervision of Food & Beverage Manager. POSITION & WAGE A Casual Position, 2-4 days a week 10:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Starting hourly wage: $21.12 LOCATION Greystone Manor Retirement Residence - Park Place Seniors Living 11657 Ritchie Ave, Maple Ridge B.C. V2X 8X3 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Cook meals according to the weekly menu · Follow safe cooking practices · Assist in the ordering and receipt of food orders · Ensure meals are served in a pleasing and appetizing manner · Assist with Staff training · Cleaning food preparation areas and equipment QUALIFICATIONS · High school diploma · Minimum of one to three years of experience in a fast-paced, professional environment focused on delivering a superior culinary experience · Food Safe Level 1 Certification · Positive team player, effective communicator and actively fosters an environment of trust and collaboration · Interested in working in a professional environment guided by an experienced and passionate Executive Chef PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires a significant amount of lifting, bending, walking, sitting and standing. Lifting 50-lbs. maximum. More frequent lifting of 20 lbs. or less. A regular day may involve four (4) hours of walking and frequent bending or crouching.
