Competitive wages A meaningful leadership role in a resident-focused environment A varied position combining team leadership, preventative maintenance, repairs, contractor coordination, budgeting, and safety About the Role Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the building, physical plant, grounds, and equipment remain safe, functional, and well maintained. You will lead preventative maintenance activities, prioritize repairs and projects, oversee maintenance employees and contractors, manage maintenance and capital budgets, and support fire safety, workplace safety, infection prevention, risk management, and quality improvement programs. As a member of the site leadership team, you will also contribute to operational, staffing, budget, and policy decisions while helping foster a strong culture of safety and respect. What You’ll Do Lead and maintain the site’s preventative maintenance program Plan and completed building, equipment, and grounds maintenance Prioritize emergency repairs, major projects, routine work, and preventative maintenance Diagnose and complete repairs when appropriate and coordinate qualified contractors when required Obtain quotations and oversee contractors to ensure work meets specifications Manage budgets for facility repairs, maintenance, and capital projects Prepare capital budget submissions for facility improvements and renovations Maintain accurate documentation to support inspections, audits, and regulatory requirements Coordinate fire drills and provide fire-safety education to employees Inspect rooms and address maintenance or safety concerns before resident move-ins Participate in occupational health and safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives Respond to emergency building and maintenance issues Treat residents with dignity, care, and respect in every interaction What You Bring Several years of recent, related maintenance experience Previous facility-management experience is preferred Journeyperson certificate in an appropriate building-maintenance trade is an asset Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, structural, and roofing systems Knowledge of maintenance processes and health and safety requirements Experience coordinating contractors Strong problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Effective computer skills Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely Physical ability to perform the duties of the position Ability to pass a vulnerable sector criminal background check Make a Meaningful Move This is more than a building-maintenance position.
