Hours: Approximately 15–30 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours by mutual agreement Compensation: Based on qualifications and experience About Pavonis Diagnostics Pavonis Diagnostics Inc. is developing VICA™, a label-free, low-volume platform for the characterization of biological molecules. Our research team works on the development, optimization, and application of VICA™ across a range of biomolecular research workflows. We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to support laboratory research, experimental development, and day-to-day research operations. This position is well suited to a graduate with hands-on laboratory experience and an interest in biotechnology, assay development, and biomolecular characterization. Key Responsibilities Assist with the planning, execution, and documentation of research experiments and development activities. Perform laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, assay setup, reagent and buffer preparation, and experimental measurements. Support the development, optimization, and validation of experimental methods, assays, and VICA™ platform workflows. Characterize biological molecules and research samples using VICA™ and other applicable methods. Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data and prepare figures, tables, summaries, and presentations to communicate results. Maintain accurate laboratory records and assist with the preparation and maintenance of protocols, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation. Support laboratory operations, including equipment care, reagent preparation, inventory management, and general organization. Communicate experimental progress, results, and technical issues to the research team. Follow all applicable laboratory safety, quality, confidentiality, and data integrity requirements. Qualifications Completed diploma or degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, biological sciences, chemistry, biomedical sciences, or a related field. Hands-on laboratory experience gained through employment, academic research, laboratory coursework, or a co-op placement. Familiarity with standard laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, reagent preparation, and accurate pipetting. Ability to follow established protocols and maintain clear, complete, and accurate laboratory records. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to analyze experimental results and prepare clear figures, tables, and written summaries. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a research team. Willingness to learn new laboratory methods, technologies, and workflows. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with proteins, peptides, antibodies, or other biological molecules. Experience with assay development, optimization, or validation. Familiarity with protein characterization, binding assays, or related analytical methods. Experience preparing technical documentation, protocols, or standard operating procedures.
