TechOps Engineer

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE As an Operations Engineer, you will be part of the Operations team and be accountable for ensuring uptime of the production environment. You are organized, self-motivated, a team player, and are able to actively participate in the exchange of ideas with peers and management. You will have the opportunity to work independently as well as with a great team of Operational Analysts. You will work on important and exciting projects that will shape the future of Paymentus! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage and drive critical operations tasks within the organization * Respond to, research, and resolve production problems in accordance with Paymentus policy. - Monitor the production platform using tools such as Cacti, Nagios, ELK. * Update and patch infrastructure in accordance with security patching policy. * Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. * Assist with back-end provisioning of new customers. * Participate in the weekly on-call production support rotation. * Research and promote new technology, build Proof of Concept systems. * Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures while performing job duties. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position does not have any supervisory responsibility or direct reports. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * 5+ years with one or more distributions of Linux (CentOS/Ubuntu/Debian/RHEL/SLES) * 2+ year of Windows 7/8/10 * 3+ years in Scripting * 2+ years of Apache and Tomcat * 3+ years of SQL * Strong Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills * A desire to automate tasks over manually completing them * Nice to have AWS and Kubernetes experience Salary Range: $90k-125k WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. The employee may be required to life up to 25 lbs. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. TRAVEL 10-15% travel to customer sites may be required based upon project needs. The TechOps Engineer is responsible for ensuring the uptime of the production environment and managing critical operations tasks. They will monitor platforms, perform infrastructure patching, and assist with back-end customer provisioning.

Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience with Linux distributions and 3 years of experience in scripting and SQL. Strong root cause analysis skills and a desire to automate manual tasks are essential for this role.
