IPT Lead – Flight Control Systems (FCS) Location: Montreal-Est, Quebec, Canada Industry: Aerospace / Advanced Air Mobility Job Summary We are looking for an experienced IPT Lead – Flight Control Systems (FCS) to lead the development, integration, verification, and certification of flight control systems for aircraft programs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Flight Dynamics, Control Laws, Fly-by-Wire systems, MATLAB/Simulink, aerospace certification, and cross-functional IPT leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead the Flight Control Systems (FCS) Integrated Product Team (IPT) and manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, and technical delivery. Lead FCS architecture, including fly-by-wire/fly-by-light systems, actuators, sensors, and interfaces. Drive control law development, flight dynamics modeling, stability & control analysis, gain scheduling, and redundancy management. Coordinate with Aerodynamics, Structures, Avionics, Software, V&V, and Certification teams. Lead MIL, SIL, and HIL integration, ground testing, iron-bird testing, and flight-test support. Develop and manage system requirements, control laws, simulation models, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Lead certification activities and ensure compliance with ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, and DO-254. Support safety analysis including FHA, FMEA, and FTA. Work with customers, certification authorities, DERs/ARs, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Identify and manage technical, integration, and program risks. Support technical reviews, proposals, RFQs, effort estimation, and program planning. Lead onsite/offshore engineering teams and ensure delivery against aircraft program milestones. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Controls, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering. 12–18+ years of aerospace industry experience. Strong experience in Flight Control Systems development and aircraft New Product Development (NPD). Proven experience leading IPTs or cross-functional engineering teams. Strong knowledge of Flight Dynamics and Control Theory. Experience with Control Law Design, Fly-by-Wire architectures, and flight simulation. Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink. Knowledge of sensors, actuation systems, ARINC/AFDX interfaces, and aircraft systems integration. Familiarity with MBSE tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody. Strong technical leadership and stakeholder/customer communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with eVTOL, UAV, or Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) programs. Experience with Digital Twins, Model-Based Design, or Autonomous Flight Control Systems. Familiarity with 3DX or Teamcenter. Experience with aircraft certification and regulatory programs involving FAA, EASA, or DGCA. Key Deliverables Certified FCS architecture and control laws. Integrated and validated flight control system. Certification documentation and compliance artifacts. On-time FCS IPT deliverables aligned with aircraft program milestones.
