Job summary
As the eyes of the casino, you will ensure the security of customers, staff, and assets by maintaining continuous surveillance of gaming areas and the entire property. Oversee the surveillance department and surveillance operations staff and reporting suspicious activities to BCLC. Major Responsibilities & Duties Reports directly to the Manager, Gaming Compliance and Surveillance Delegates responsibilities to surveillance staff regarding daily activities Supervise, motivate and lead a team of Surveillance Operators to work co-operatively and efficient Uses audio and video equipment to maintain continuous surveillance of all gaming areas and property Maintain a safe, secure and enjoyable casino environment Various other duties as assigned by management for the benefit of the company, facility and guest according to your job Be responsible for your decisions and actions, and the professionalism of your team Complete, accurate written reports, logs and forms Analyze problem situations and make appropriate decisions by following the BCLC Policies and Procedures Monitor activity of patrons and staff Resolve customer and staff complaints Investigate counterfeit transactions Maintain up to date Self-Exclusions logs Maintain good working relationships with all departments Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working Ensure the work area is maintained and kept clean and sanitary at all times Update and implement surveillance staff in new BCLC policies and procedures Communicate clear and effectively when giving directions Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure Follow Director of Gaming Operations requests and or instructions and carry out any other duties as per your position Become proficient with the use of “ITRACK” (BCLC reporting system) Lear the job within the 90 day probationary period. Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Required Uses audio and video equipment to maintain continuous surveillance of all gaming areas and property Computer skills to use email and word processing Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to write and edit high quality content Writing skills for professional style reports and completion of the BCLC logs and forms Demonstrate problem solving/investigation skills Identifies, records, documents and reports unusual or suspicious activities Identifies fraud and takes the appropriate action required by law and company policy Monitors compliance and protect company assets and gaming integrity Maintains detailed and accurate logs Gathers and submits information for detailed reporting; assists with investigations Experience, Training, Certification, & Education Prefer grade 12 completion Previous experiences in Casino Surveillance is a requirement ART Training RG Training Level 1 First Aid Training Fintrac Training (AML) Privacy Awareness certificate Serving It Right certificate Working Conditions Must be able to withstand changes in temperature, some dust, occasional cleaning with chemicals, noise and constant flashing of lights in the foreground, sitting for extended periods of times, long periods of time of watching monitors and cameras, some lifting up to 30lbs., interruptions and some speed is required. Special Notes This position may start as a part time position with the possibility of transitioning to full time dependant on candidate qualifications and circumstances.

Requirements
